Don't Wait until Thanksgiving

Oftentimes, we try to teach our kids to be thankful the week before Thanksgiving because this is the time of year to show our thanks. True thanks cannot be taught one week at a time, but needs to be taught and modeled year-round. To get you started over the month of November, try some of the ideas in the article below.

I'm Being Interviewed

Tomorrow night (Thursday, Nov 10), I will be interviewed about

my eBay business. For those of you who don’t know, eBay has

allowed me an opportunity to teach my kids a variety of skills –

writing, decision making, research, finances, entrepreneurialism,

income/expenses and so on. On Thursday, Steve will interview

me about my eBay business so we can share tips we have

learned the hard way, as well as some mistakes we made along

the way. In addition to eBay tips, I hope to have time to discuss

how I balance my day between family, homeschool, housekeeping

and business.

Please send me your most burning question about eBay or time

management to my e-mail address kerry{at}CurriculumConnection{dot}net.

At the end of the call, I plan to answer your questions.

If you want to listen to the call, you must register at our Family

E-Biz Expo page. http://familyebiz.com/expo.htm Once you

register, you will receive a welcome message. Later in the day,

you will receive the telephone number and password. I will send

you a link tomorrow with the cheat sheets for the call.

If you decide you want to learn more about teaching your kids a family

business, join us at our first Family E-Biz Expo next January in Austin,

Texas. Our speakers are world-renowned. In fact, one of our speakers,

Stephen Pierce, just returned from an overseas trip speaking to

corporations in Malaysia and other places in Asia. I am so excited

to hear their talks and get to know those of you who decide to attend

the Family E-Biz Expo. Click here and discover the details:

BTW, you can make some extra Christmas cash by telling others

Business 101 - Future Entrepreneurs

I know that many of you who have older kids are looking for

practical, yet educational studies. Personally, I believe business

skills are the best practical skills your kids can have. All of our

kids have published or produced their own products and sell them

at book fairs and on the internet. My daughters are interning with

Curriculum Connection & Family E-Biz to learn real-life bookkeeping,

inventory, customer relations, shipping skills, and gain an

entrepreneurial perspective to run businesses. They can use

these skills for the rest of their lives, just to earn a little extra

income for their future family or to build businesses with their husbands.

Starting a business is a terrific way to help your teen prepare

for adulthood. I know that many of you have teens that

attended our Teen Business Workshop. Now, you can have

further business & entrepreneur education – Business 101!

Our Very Own Conference

For several years our company, Curriculum Connection,

attended a variety of book shows, conferences and seminars.

I always hoped to host our own conference and now we are

having that chance. Steve & I have been planning our Expo

for several months, as we want it to truly be an encouragement

to families and provide information that will give more freedom

and control to their lives.

For that reason, we are very proud to announce Family E-Biz Expo

in Austin, Texas. Although it is not specifically about homeschooling,

it is definitely for families who want to think outside the box in

terms of education and providing for our families. If you or your

teen want practical, Business 101 advice, this is the place to go.

And, you can’t beat the price compared to other conferences

of this nature.

You may be wondering, “What is the Family E-Biz Expo?”.

The Family E-Biz Expo is a weekend for you and your family to

discover the secrets of jumpstarting your own family business

and gain freedom and control of your own lives in the process.

We see a crying need for families to attain more freedom in their

lives and gain more control over their finances and time. For

this reason, we have been planning the Family E-Biz Expo over

the past year.

successful businesses and learning from mentors. The rest

of our speakers are also top-notch experts in their field.

So, consider the Family E-Biz Expo as continuing education for
