Not Complaining ! ? ! ?

Steve was gone for our morning family devotions, so I led it. I read several verses, including the following ones, which have been on my heart.

Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world. Philippians 2:14-15

Yesterday Steve & I talked about how we have been complaining too much about a variety of things. This is contagious as we noticed our kids complaining, too. I took this time to talk to the kids about our decision to quit complaining as much.

We also discussed the idea that there is a time to state facts (when someone is not following through or not showing Christian character), but there is never a right time to dwell on it and talk it into the the ground. I'm sure you know what I mean.

Do you have situations in your life that you can't change? Do you disagree with the way the leadership handles those situations? Do you get frustrated?

God tells us not to complain about these things. As parents, we can teach our kids this lesson best by not complaining ourselves :-) Then, count it ALL joy my brethren when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience (James 1:2-3)

Any other ideas on not complaining, please post in the comment section.
