Children like Christmas crafts a lot. Santa craft ideas for kids are a fun and relatively easy way to spend time with your children during the holiday season. Pick from a variety of our Christmas craft-decorating, free ideas.
SANTA PICTURE:
If you are searching for holiday craft ideas for preschoolers, this activity is good to start with. So, let's start making Santa pictures. There are hundreds of Santa coloring books sold during Christmas. Pick a picture from the book. Cut out Santa's picture, and place the picture in the center of a sheet of white rough paper. Use a glue stick to paste the picture on to the paper.
Color the picture with colored markers. Once the picture is finished, use cotton balls to serve as Santa's beard, and one ball of cotton at the tip of his red hat. You can use black buttons to serve as Santa's eyes and a red bead button for his nose. Decorate the rest of the area of the white paper by drawing candy canes or trees.
When the picture is finished, your children can sign their names right under Santa's image. Take a piece of heavy cardboard and secure the picture to it. Put the picture in a frame to protect it. Place this frame in a memorable area of your house for all to look and admire.
SANTA CHRISTMAS CARDS:
Making Santa Christmas cards is another nice craft your children will love to do. Get a piece of heavy, white paper and measure the paper to the dimension of 5x7 inches. Cut the paper to that size. You can fold it in half, either positions; vertical or horizontal. Tell your kids to make their own version of Santa on the front cover. Let them use crayons or felt markers and let their creative ideas explode.
After the picture is done, your children can print Christmas messages on the inside of the card. Homemade Christmas cards are delightful to display at home or send to friends and relatives. You can also add this to your Christmas craft-a-day calendar; it's a fun activity to do with your children or pupils.
MAKE A SANTA PLATE ORNAMENT FOR THE CHRISTMAS TREE:
Things that will be used are crayons and markers, cotton balls, a large paper plate, and color sparkles. Trace or draw Santa, without his red hat, on the plate using the drawing materials. Use the cotton balls to serve as his beard. You can even stick the cotton balls together into a V-shape so that Santa's beard hangs off the plate. The cotton balls can serve as Santa's hair, also.
Use blue felt pens to color Santa's eyes, and a black felt pen to draw the glasses of Santa. Use red food color on a cotton ball to create a nose. Also, color the edges of the plate with red or green and add colored sparkles to it. Lastly, hang this homemade Christmas picture plate on the tree by inserting an ornament hook at the top of the plate.
Who said it can't be done? There are so many different ways to share with your kids in designing, creating, and decorating Santa Christmas ornaments, pictures, and cards.
