Finish off those Thanksgiving leftovers. If you've already run out of creative ways to prepare the two-day-old feast, try eating your meal pilgrim style.
Table manners have evolved quite a bit over the past 386 years, so you'll need a primer. First, pay attention to the seating arrangement. What you get to eat dependds on your social standing, since our ancestors ate what was sitting nearest them instead of sampling a little of everything. Not surprisingly, the most important diners got the best pickings.
Second, eat in whatever order you want. The pilgrims just placed everything on the table at once, rather than serving in courses like we do today.
Finally, prepare for a little messiness; they ate with spoons, knives, and fingers only :-)
