For those whose budgets are already strained and are having a hard time buying all of the commercialized Christmas tree ornaments found in most stores, making your tree on a budget can be easy and cheap. You, also, can design a cute and nice looking ornamental tree without having to sacrifice style and beauty. Beside being cost-effective, these Christmas tree mini-decors are great for your kids. With these Christmas tree decorations instructions, you'll have a nice Christmas tree in no time.
COOKIE TREE:
Create a winsome cookie tree. Start by baking the cookies in all shapes and sizes. Sprinkle each cookie with rainbow seeds or sugar sprinkles to give the cookies a appetizing color. To hang them on the tree, pierce it with a small piece of cardboard - about the size of a dime - and punch it through the top of the cookie before baking starts. With this cardboard, the holes will remain open during baking. Then, thread ribbons into the holes and make it into a bow on each cookie. Now you can hang them one-by-one.
On top of the cookie tree, place a large, soft cookie with a Christmas tree light in its center. Before putting this cookie in the oven, follow the same procedure by punching a hole using a rolled piece of cardboard in the center of the cookie. You can decorate the cookie by covering it with white icing with a splash of red food color.
Create an adorable tree skirt by using an green or red apron that has decorative images such as Christmas themes or even gingerbread cookies. With this, you have cookie cutter Christmas ornaments recipes for the tree.
SNOWY TREE:
Here is another cost-effective way to design and make a mini Christmas tree. Try making a snowy Christmas tree. Gather cotton balls and stick them to the tips of the branches. Also use any white glitter and sprinkle it over the cotton balls to give it aglistening snow result. You can also cut thick silver strings into tiny bits to achieve the same effect.
How about a ornament on the treetop? Create a snowman out of cookie dough. Your favorite cookie dough will do fine. Knead and form the dough into a snowman. Cover the whole body of the snowman with icing. Use chocolate chips for his eyes, and a small carrot for a nose. For his smile, use chocolate from a piping bag.
To make a tree skirt, simply use red or green cardboard. With scissors, cut it into an arc. Get about two to three cups of flour and add water. Put the flour on the cardboard's surface to give it the appearance of newly fallen snow. Also, a sprinkle of white glitter will enhance the look.
