How to Process Orders Online

You have your target niche. You have researched that niche to find out what they want. You have found products for your niche and you even have them displayed on your blog and web site. Now what?

Well, now we have to make it EASY for them to purchase from us! When I first started doing business online, I made my customers tell me what they wanted in an EMAIL and then send me a CHECK in the mail. Needless to say, I didn't have a very successful online business!

So don't repeat my mistakes. Remember, if it is not EASY, your visitors will not buy from you. Even if you are selling only ONE item, you want to make it EASY for your customer by offering a shopping cart that will move them from your web page to a payment page and then send them an email receipt...all automatically. And you HAVE to be able to take credit cards.

There are lots of shopping carts to choose from, but if you want to START AN EZ WEB BUSINESS payment plan, Paypal's shopping cart is the best way to go. Just go to Paypal and set up a Website Payments Standard account. (It is free, just look under "Merchant Services" on their home page).

Paypal will give you a free shopping cart and the ability to take credit cards, paypal payments and e-checks over the Internet...just like the BIG BOYS!

Just think about it...no monthly fees, no setup fees and no cancellation fees. And you can take credit cards through the Paypal's shopping cart from people who do not even have a Paypal account! How's that for convenience! Of course, Paypal will take a little out of each transaction, but then again, every credit card company does that...and Paypal doesn't take out that much.

So, now that you have processed the order and gotten paid (yippee!), how do we deliver our product? That depends on what you are selling. If it is a physical product, nothing beats Flat Rate Priority Mail by the United States Postal Service.

With flat rate, you ALWAYS know how much the shipping will be (as long as it fits in the box). The USPS will also give you the boxes for free! Then you can print out your postage at home on your printer and drop those packages off at the Post Office without having to wait in line. How cool is that!
