Great Teachers

Good teaching follows a predictable format:

Smile throughout
Shower advice
Warn
Encourage
Praise !!!!
And, most importantly, set the example
Isn't that a great list. These are things I have heard from great teachers, such as Andrew Pudewa from Institute of Excellence in Writing. In my own experience as a public school teacher and a homeschool mom, I know that students learn better when you excercise these attributes. Sometimes I forget to praise the kids, so I will be working on praise this week. Which one do you need to work on this week? Choose one and pray about putting this into effect.

Oliver DeMille, in Thomas Jefferson Education, says:

Teachers teach, and when they do it well, students educate. This is the core of all learning and the key to success in any & every educational endeavor......focus on great teaching instead of educational problems.
