Dealing With Free vs. Paid Information Products In A Home Internet Business

I help people market information products in their home internet business for a living. One of the most common questions that I get all the time is whether someone should be concerned if they are selling an information product about a topic for which there is free information available. They believe that the presence of the free product eliminates demand for the paid product.

While some people believe free eliminates demand for paid, I have found the opposite to be true, especially in situations where the free product fails to cover as much depth as the paid product. You should be excited when you see a free product because that shows there is interest in your target market.

Keep in mind that there are several topics that you can locate information on at no cost. The challenge is that it would take a significant amount of time to locate the information. Convenience is worth spending money on. It is more convenient to find information in one location. The average person does not want to search on a bunch of websites and put the information together. They want it right now and in your home internet business you can provide it to them.

Think about all the situations where people spend money to save time. Think about all the situations where people pay more for higher quality, especially if the quality of the free products is low. This is exactly what you are doing when you create a product to sell on the internet.

That being said, you should offer a free mini-course to get a person in your marketing funnel. If they are satisfied with your free course, they will want to know more about what you have to offer from your paid resources. They also believe that the paid resources are better and more valuable. Paying for something creates value. Therefore, by consolidating good information you will have the opportunity to make money even if you compete with free resources.

How To Start Home Business That Runs Successfully With Your Spouse

In our last article, we talked about how to start a home business successfully with your spouse. Here are some additional tips that will help you and your spouse run that business successfully.

1. Plan time to discuss how the upcoming week is going to work.
During this time you can decide who is going to work on what and determine what needs to be done this week. A great time to do this is on Monday mornings. Whatever time you decide that this meeting is going to take place, it should be at that set time every week so that it is easy to remember.

2. Separate which one of you is going to be responsible for completing each task in the business and write it down.
It is a good idea to have it in a centralized location such as a white board in your home office. You can create columns for the two of you and additional columns if you have employees or people you outsource to. It should also include calendar events as well.

3. Track business and family appointments on a large calendar with various colors.
One benefit to starting a home business is the ability to schedule business activities around family events and this will aid you in this task.

4. Use strengths appropriately.
Each of you should focus on what you are strong at and hire or outsource out the rest. If you are going to hire employees or contractors make sure you decide and make clear which of you they will work for and what they are responsible for working on so that there is no confusion.

5. Meet before you start home business to plan out household responsibilities.
You should know who is going to pick the kids up from school and take them to their various activities. You should determine who is going to do the cooking and the cleaning around the house. Determining these tasks in advance will save you lots of frustration.

6. Figure out what each of you are working on in the business and come up with a game plan for what will happen should one of you need to step away.
Think about what it will cost to hire someone to do those tasks instead. This is part of contingency planning, which is vital, especially if one of you gets pregnant or has other situations that require your attention other than the business.

The key with all of these tips is to plan, plan and plan some more. Planning in advance will make everything easier when you start home business.

Godly Children Without All the Sacrifice

My husband posted this last month so I'm passing it on to you.
-------------------------
I am on a quest.

I want to find a method, a system if you will, to raise my
children with the least amount of effort possible.

I want to raise children in such a way that it doesn't cost me
any money, doesn't cut into my free time and doesn't require a
large amount of work.

And I want good results too.

I want godly children who are obedient, polite and who love God
with all their strength. But I don't want spend a lot of time or
effort on this. And I certainly don't want to be out a lot of
cash. I just want it to happen naturally.

In fact, if someone had a program that would guarantee this or
maybe even some children already like this that I could just
assume responsibility for...then I would be REALLY interested!
Then I could have all of the results (and all of the rewards)
without all the sacrifice. I could have godly children and I
wouldn't be out any time, money or effort.

How cool would that be!

Hopefully, you are as horrified with the ideas above as I am. And
if you are not disgusted with the idea of raising godly children
without all the muss and fuss of sacrifice, you might as well hit
the unsubscribe button right now!

Now, why the rant about raising children on a newsletter about
starting your own online business...?
